WorldStrides filed a voluntary Chapter 11 Bankruptcy earlier this week. That, at first, seems alarming considering the financial investment you have made towards this trip. However, they are NOT going out of business. The decision to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy was due to reaching an agreement to recapitalize/restructure. A solid business decision and a good step for their company. It will enable them to move forward and plan for future travel. Worldstrides is actually being very proactive given the current state of the travel industry. This decision was made with their investors and is allowing them to clear their expenses and continue to weather the 4+ month travel industry hiatus. They have been in business for more than 50 years and there have been other times like now where travel has temporarily halted. After 9-11, fear of terrorism brought the travel industry to a halt and they worked through that flawlessly. I have every confidence that we will continue forward with business as usual and the moment I feel otherwise I will let you know.
All previous information concerning our postponed trip remains the same and the trip is currently on as scheduled. A meeting will be scheduled in early September to go over all details concerning our trip. I hope your sons and daughters enjoy the last few weeks of summer, prior to our return to the classroom.
